It was Sunday 19th August, and after a very wet Saturday it was thought that the Isle of Man Children’s Centre Fun Day at Silverdale Glen might be cancelled. Albeit a little overcast at first the day got off to a brilliant start, Team 21’s Mini was there supporting the “Fun Day” with a boot full of plastic balls which people had to guess how many to win a radio controlled Mini Cooper, it created a lot of interest and was very well supported. After the count at the end of the day it was found to have 398 balls and the winner was contacted to collect the prize. There was a lot of interest in the Mini and the Italian Job, which made an ideal opportunity to sell some “Prize Draw” tickets of which we took advantage.
A very well organised and inventive treasure hunt was created with an “Italian Job” theme, clues had to be found all round Silverdale which lead to gold bullion which was hidden on the island in the middle of the lake. The small kids and the big kids (mums & dads) really enjoyed it.
There was Sumo wrestling, Gladiators and a host of other activities for the kids. Banana man was a scream; literally the kids chased him screaming all the way.
Top marks to the organisers and a big thank you for inviting Team 21 along.
